Anita Amir Labonno

Bio

Anita Amir Labonno is a PhD student in Fiber and Polymer Science and joined TPACC in Fall 2023. She is originally from Bangladesh, where she completed her Bachelor’s in Textile Engineering. Before joining TPACC, her Master’s research focused on the “Development and Assessment of N-halamine-based Self-decontaminating Fabric Finish.” She is currently working on the dermal absorption of volatile PFAS in Firefighter’s Gear using the reconstructed human epidermis model. Alongside her research, Anita is passionate about teaching and aspires to continue her research on advancement of protective textiles to minimize chemical or hazardous material exposure. Outside academics, She keeps herself involved in volunteering and outreach activities. Anita enjoys listening to music, painting, traveling, hiking, and has an interest in anime and pop culture.
