Mark Gaskill

Bio

Mark Gaskill is a Ph.D. student at NC State’s Wilson College of Textiles and currently serves as a research assistant at the Textile Protection And Comfort Center (TPACC). Mark has received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Polymer and Color Chemistry and his Master of Science Degree in Textile Chemistry. He is currently serving as the President of the Textile Association of Graduate Students for the 2023-2024 academic school year. Mark’s dissertation research focuses on the assessment of protective ensembles used by firefighters, fire investigators, and HAZMAT workers. He is currently working to provide a better understanding of the protection offered by these ensembles against airborne particulate and chemical vapor. His most recent work “Evaluation of Common Fire Investigator Ensembles Against Chemical Vapor” has been presented at the International Firefighter Cancer Symposium, the International Association of Arson Investigators International Training Conference, and the 10th European Conference on Protective Clothing.
