Dr. Jingtian Lu

Bio

Dr. Jingtian Lu is a Research Scientist at the Textile Protection and Comfort Center (TPACC) and holds a Ph.D. in Fiber and Polymer Science from NC State University’s Wilson College of Textiles. Her research focuses on developing and evaluating test methods for repellency and flammability of firefighter turnout gear, especially under aging and fuel contamination. She led the Contamination Resistance project during her Ph.D. and currently oversees TPACC’s Combustion Ion Chromatography (CIC) testing for total fluorine analysis. Originally from Guangzhou, China, Jingtian is passionate about applying fiber and polymer science to enhance safety in hazardous environments.
