Jingtian Lu
Bio
Jingtian Lu is a third-year PhD candidate in Fiber and Polymer Science at NC State University’s Wilson College of Textiles, working under Dr. Bryan Ormond. She joined the Textile Protection and Comfort Center (TPACC) in Spring 2022, driven by its mission to enhance safety through research. Her work focuses on developing test methods for the repellency and flammability of firefighters’ turnout ensembles, aiming to improve safety in hazardous environments. Originally from Guangzhou, China, Jingtian aspires to protect people from thermal and chemical risks through applied research. She has experience in leadership and teamwork and seeks a role in textiles science research and development starting in summer 2025. Outside of her studies, Jingtian enjoys playing basketball and working out at the gym.
