Bio

Merin Jahan Sabiha joined TPACC in Fall 2023. Originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh, she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, to continue her education, research, and professional development in textiles. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering and later completed a Master of Science in Textile Engineering at NC State University. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Fiber and Polymer Science at NC State, where her research focuses on evaluating non-PFAS moisture barriers in firefighter turnout gear and their effects on protective performance, heat stress, and physiological burden. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Nonwovens Science and Technology from The Nonwovens Institute and a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification. Outside of her academic and professional work, she enjoys music, traveling, and cooking.
